Egyptian Presdient Anwar sadat was assassinated.

US air traffic controllers were sacked following a strike severely disrupting flights to and from the US.

MTV commenced broadcasting 24 hour music videos.

Pacman became the most popular computer game.

The main movies were Raiders of the Lost Ark, Chariots of Fire and on Golden pond.

AIDS was first identified as a disease.

Early rock and roller Bill Hayley died.

In 1981

The Principal of Redcliffe State High School was Bill Miller who retired. Doug Greening became Acting Principal.

The Acting Deputy Principal was Mary Dale.

The Acting Senior Mistress was Margaret Hall.

There were students in the Senior class.

The school captains were Sally greenland and jim Blanch.

Jindobarri won the Swimming carnival.

Murrumba won the Athletics carnival.

The dux of the school was Steven Wade.
